These terms govern the use of this website and every quotation, commission and installation carried out by Meranti Woodworks Sdn. Bhd. (Company No. 202001023714 (1379422-T)). By engaging us, you agree to them. They are written in plain English on purpose — if anything is unclear, ask before you sign.
1. Quotations and drawings
Quotations are itemised, in Ringgit Malaysia, and valid for 30 days. The 3D drawings and measurement visit are free of charge and carry no obligation. Drawings remain our intellectual property until a deposit is paid; we ask that you do not pass them to another contractor for pricing, and in return we will never pressure you to proceed.
2. Confirming a project
A project is confirmed when you approve the final drawings and pay a 50% deposit. The approved drawings — dimensions, materials, finishes and hardware — form the specification. Changes requested after confirmation are welcome where production allows, quoted separately, and may adjust the delivery date.
3. Payment
50% deposit on confirmation, 40% on completion of workshop fabrication (we will send photographs), and the final 10% upon installation and your walkthrough. Payment is by bank transfer to our Malaysian corporate account. We do not take cash at the door and our installers never collect payment.
4. Timelines
Your confirmation email states a delivery window. We keep to it in the overwhelming majority of projects; where a delay beyond our control arises — material shortages, building access restrictions — we will tell you as soon as we know and agree a revised date. Delays caused by site conditions (unfinished flooring, no electricity, denied access) may pause the schedule until resolved.
5. Site conditions and installation
You are responsible for ensuring the site is ready: finished floors, working electricity and clear access to the installation area. Our installers protect floors and remove all packaging and offcuts. Minor scribing and touch-up at site is a normal part of fitting built-in furniture and is included.
6. Natural materials
Timber and veneer are natural products. Grain, knots and colour vary between boards and will deepen or mellow with light and age; such variation is a characteristic, not a defect. We match samples as closely as craft allows and will show you actual material samples before confirmation.
7. Warranty
Every commission carries a 5-year workmanship warranty covering joinery, carcass integrity, and the alignment and operation of doors and drawers under normal domestic or stated commercial use. Hardware carries its manufacturer’s warranty. The warranty excludes damage from misuse, water ingress from the building, pest infestation originating in the premises, and alterations made by others. Warranty work is carried out at our cost, including transport within the Klang Valley.
8. Cancellation
You may cancel before confirmation at no cost. After confirmation, the deposit covers materials purchased and workshop time scheduled; see our Return & Refund Policy for the exact scale of refunds at each stage.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise, our total liability in connection with a project is capped at the price paid for that project, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as alternative accommodation or loss of business income.

11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the courts of Kuala Lumpur. In practice, disputes at this workshop are settled over the phone, quickly, and usually with an apology from whoever misread the drawing.
