Cookie Policy

This website keeps its cookie use deliberately small — a carpentry workshop has little use for an advertising profile of you. Here is the complete list.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Related technologies such as localStorage work similarly: the site leaves a note on your device that it can read on your next visit. We use both, sparingly.

What we actually set

1. Session cookie (essential)

Name: PHPSESSID. Set when you open a page and used to protect the enquiry form against forged submissions. It contains a random identifier, nothing personal, and expires when you close your browser. The site cannot function safely without it, so it does not require consent.

2. Consent memory (essential)

Key: mw_cc, stored in your browser’s localStorage. It records a single word — whether you accepted or declined cookies — so the banner does not reappear on every page. It stays until you clear your browser data.

3. Analytics (only with your consent)

If you press “Accept” on the cookie banner, we may enable simple, aggregate page-view counting to see which guides in our Journal are read. If you press “Reject”, no analytics run. Declining changes nothing about how the site works for you.

Third-party requests

Our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser requests the font files from Google’s servers, which necessarily sees your IP address; Google publishes its own privacy documentation covering this service. No other third-party content is embedded.

Changing your mind

Use the small gear button in the lower-left corner of any page to reopen the cookie banner and change your choice. You can also clear cookies and site data through your browser settings at any time — every mainstream browser has instructions under Settings → Privacy.
